About Our Attorneys
- Attorney Douglas G. Thomas is a partner at Duffy, North. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1974 and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania in 1992. He graduated from Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, and is also a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association. His areas of practice include banking law, financial institutions, corporate law, real estate, wills, estate planning, trusts and estates, and litigation. He serves as general counsel for a local bank. In addition, he received a BV Distinguished* rating through Martindale-Hubbell in an industry peer review process.
- Attorney Bruce A. Nicholson was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1975 and graduated cum laude from Boston College Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also a member of the American Bar Association. His areas of practice include real property, trusts and estates, business law, corporate law, wills and estate planning. He received an AV Preeminent* rating through Martindale-Hubbell in an industry peer review process. He is also a longtime member of the local Rotary chapter.
- Attorney Laura M. Mercuri was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1999 and graduated from Duquesne University. She is also a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association. She is a former banking director and a member of a local YMCA board. She is fluent in Italian, French and Spanish.
Over its history, the firm has always encouraged participation by its members in the affairs of the community and relevant bar associations. All of our attorneys are from the community, and many attended local colleges and law schools. Our clients include many small, family-owned businesses, as well as banks and financial institutions.
