Before Abraham Lincoln became the 16th President
of the United States, he was a lawyer in Illinois. He displayed
a sign in his office which read, "A lawyer's time is his stock
in trade." That has not changed. With that in mind,
DuffyNorth strives to make efficient use of our time
in working for our clients. That dedication enables us to provide
quality legal services to our clients at a reasonable cost. This
is achieved by the combined efforts of experienced lawyers and support
staff and the use of modern office practices and equipment.
Fee arrangements with clients are made on
a case by case basis because we recognize that each client who comes
to us brings unique problems.
Billing is normally done on a regular periodic
schedule which is agreed to beforehand. This allows the client to
budget legal costs rather than face substantial bills at the end
of any case. However, there are exceptions to every rule. In some
cases, we will accept a case with the understanding that we will
only be paid from the money we collect for the client. Such services
such as wills, powers of attorney, "living
wills", real estate settlements, deeds, etc.., have
a fixed cost. In Some instances, we can arrange for payment plans
or retainers. Fee information is thoroughly explained to clients
when we first meet.
